On-site Research Help in Center for the Arts Returns!
Beginning on Wednesday, March 4, 2009, I will be returning for another semester of on-site research assistance in the Atrium/Commons area of the Center for the Arts. Every Wednesday, from noon – 1:30 PM, I will be sitting at a table in the Atrium area on the second floor. Students and faculty can stop by and visit without an appointment. I am happy to assist performing arts students and faculty in finding books/articles/resources and answer any research or library related questions.
Imminent Changes to ILLiad/Interlibrary Loan
As of this Wednesday, February 25, 2009, ILLiad – Cook Library’s Interlibrary Loan Service – will receive a facelift. While the changeover is mid-semester is far from ideal, we are being told that there will be a number of service enhancements, including a cleaner design and Web 2.0 screens. I have not been able to see a preview of the screens to tell you what they will look like. Our interlibrary loan coordinator is telling us that the ILLIad server will be down while this change over takes place. They are not sure how long this will be, but hopefully the interruption will be minimal. Here is a link to the Daily Digest notice about this change: http://www.towson.edu/applications/dailydigest/databases/news/20090223_094648AM_wiesand_1211.asp
